From A TO Beyond

The introduction of the Exeo marked a step into new territory, announcing the entry of SEAT into the sedan segment. Derived from the Latin word Exire, the name of the new model means to go beyond or to go further. It stands for progression and forward thinking.
The Exeo is brimming with advanced features you’d expect in a car designed to provide a nod to the future. Features like an anti-thermo windshield and double-glazed windows to keep out unwanted noise – and would-be thieves. A sunroof that helps to maintain an ideal driving temperature – solar-cell technology limits the heat coming in when things get too hot (it also recharges the battery). And Climatronic, complete with an Air Quality Sensor clever enough to close external vents when high levels of oxides are detected.
All quietly get on with the job of keeping things civilized. Although, as is often the case when things work to our satisfaction, you won’t notice what’s going on ‘backstage’. We don’t mind. That’s the idea.
That commitment to go further extends, quite literally, to the Exeo’s Bi-xenon AFS headlights, trained to follow the movement of the steering wheel to give the driver the optimum field of vision. A sensor activates the headlights automatically when needed, and for convenience, a ‘ComingHome’ function ensures that they remain on briefly after you turn off the engine. Another sensor activates the wipers (and even adjusts the intervals according to the intensity of the rain). Dazzling stuff. Thankfully, the anti-glare rear view mirror is anything but. The power steering, it will come as no surprise by now, is no ordinary power steering. At low speeds, Servotronic ensures that steering is light. At higher speeds, steering response is stiffened, giving a more precise, sporty feel that connects driver and road. It also enhances safety. A fact strengthened by the inclusion of a knee airbag for the driver and side ‘curtain’ airbags for the rear passengers.

Refinement and performance
Despite its class-beating credentials, the Exeo has its wheels firmly on the ground. Thanks in part to independent, four-link front suspension and trapezoidal-link rear suspension. This improves stability and enhances agility. But it’s not just the chassis that will earn your trust.
All three diesel engines (with 120hp*, 143hp and 170hp respectively) are 2.0 TDIs. All come with DPF. And all are Commonrail models, which helps to keep things quieter, lighter and more efficient. Petrol models include the 102hp 1.6, a 150hp 1.8 and a 200hp 2.0 version. The last is available as an automatic and fitted with Turbo Stratified Injection. Refinement and performance in one. Five words that sum up the Exeo just about right.
