On the occasion, Commercial Counselor Rudolf Lukavsky emphasized that Austrian companies had a strong contribution to the development of Romania’s economy and to the creation of valuable jobs in this country, with modern technology, environmentally friendly and sustainable business concepts. Lukavsky also said there were over 1,000 active Austrian investors in Romania and 6,687 companies with Austrian equity, employing around 100,000 people combined. As for the bilateral trade, he said that Austrian exports to Romania reached 1.8 billion Euro last year, while Romania exported 1.1 billion Euro worth of goods over the same period.
